The Elizabeth Foundation

The Elizabeth Foundation is a national charity supporting young children with all degrees of hearing loss to learn to listen and talk. Music is incorporated into all of the services to support the development of listening, language, speech and communication.

Support:

On-site nursery services support families from the time of diagnosis, which includes support from Teachers of the Deaf, Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist Nursery Assistants.  Children benefit from small class size, an acoustically-friendly environment, and specialist teaching focussed on the development of listening, language, speech and social skills for deaf children.

Free access is provided to the 'Let's Listen and Talk!' online home learning and support programme for parents and professionals.  Families can benefit from 'Learning through Music' – which provides games and activities to learn listening, language and communication skills through musical fun!

Summer residential programme – a one-week intensive summer programme for all the family – with nursery services, sibling support and parent education.  The week is supported by two music specialists, who provide information, advice and guidance to parents, but also run lively music sessions for the children in the nursery, their siblings and parents to enjoy and learn from.
